With our skilled and experienced team, we aim to offer a personal service and high quality, bespoke landscapes for the private and commercial sector.

We seek to implement designs that meet the specific needs of your outdoor space. We focus on aesthetics and functionality whilst quietly evoking emotions and ideas to reflect our client's own individual tastes.

Founded in 2001, we have also landscaped a number of award-winning gardens at RHS Chelsea and RHS Tatton Park Flower Shows, alongside annually creating exhibitor displays at all RHS Shows.

The Team Behind The Design

Philip Garlick


Philip joined his father-in-law in the family Garden Design and Landscaping business in 1979. During this time he gained qualifications of City and Guilds in Decorative Horticulture and Phase II Amenity Horticulture whilst developing a thriving plant nursery.

Now, with over 40 years of experience in the landscaping industry Philip has been operating Landscape Concepts for nearly 20 years. In this time he has designed and managed a vast array of projects, including four award-winning RHS show gardens.

Karen Garlick


Karen is the Office and Finance Manager, overseeing the day to day running of Landscape Concepts having previously, carried out this role for her father’s Landscaping Company for twenty-one years.

Karen also has a BA (Hons) degree in Education, specialising in English, and spent thirteen-years as a primary school teacher.

Tom Garlick

After graduating in Rural Land Management, from The Royal Agricultural University of Cirencester in 2012, Tom gained professional experience as a graduate surveyor, before deciding to transition to Garden Design and Landscaping.

With 14 years experience at Landscape Concepts Tom is now consolidating his knowledge from his early exposure to the landscaping industry, by leading our design work and overseeing our commercial maintenance contracts.

Mark Harrison

Nurseryman and Maintenance Operative

Mark has been with Landscape Concepts since 2001 overseeing our small nursery and carrying out landscape maintenance at both our commercial sites and private gardens.

Mark has worked in horticulture all his working life, and has worked for Philip since 1992, after a period at a local plant nursery. Mark holds a Phase I Certificate in Horticulture, from Moulton College. He is a experienced and competent plantsman and hardworking maintenance operative.

Wayne McKlennan


Wayne joined in 2003 as our lead builder and landscaper.

Having previously worked for a local builder, Wayne started his landscaping career at Philip’s fathers-in-law’s Landscaping firm. Wayne has now been working with our family for over 30 years.

He is fully trained and competent on an array of machines and brings a wealth of skill, experience and work ethic to the team.

Jack McKlennan


Jack recently joined Landscape Concepts in 2019 and works alongside his father Wayne as a valid, hardworking member of our construction team.

After finishing school Jack carried out a Level II Brick Laying course with Moulton College and is looking to sign onto an apprenticeship in the new year to continue his learning.
